Portal Leading to Undergraduate Success (PLUS+) in Science, 技术, 工程 & 数学(STEM)

This grant aims to narrow the prevailing disparities in STEM higher education with respect to pursuit of STEM majors, 保留, 持久性, 成功, and degree completion among Hispanics, 低收入, and other underrepresented populations.

Through the grant we propose to enhance academic and student support, and educational quality to augment students' academic skills, 知识, and educational 成功 needed to 成功fully complete STEM studies and compete in the workforce.

2. Increase student-college preparedness in STEM;
3. Strengthen student STEM competencies and 成功;
4. Increase student transferability, 持久性, and degree attainment; and
5. Improve data measures to track student 成功.

NVC students pursuing STEM studies will have opportunities to engage in undergraduate research experience, STEM概念知识开发, and career exposure activities consisting of supplemental application-based instructional support in STEM disciplines, STEM职业接触, 行业访问, 以及STEM行业客座讲师.

需求

• Participate to receive a stipend of $8000-9000 Per Year
• Be a Science, 技术, 工程, or 数学 Major (STEM Major)
• Be a Full-time student with at least 12 hours each Fall & Spring semester and at least 3 hours for Summer
• 至少得3分.0的绩点
• Have 30 hours or less earned college credits
